Wednesday, 23rd March in Estonia

My day begun quite early, the alarm clock rang at 5.45 to catch the train to Tartu (the second biggest city in Estonia) to visit the open doors day of the University of Tartu. The university is the most prestigious university in Estonia, it was founded in 1632. Since Tartu is an exceptionally beautiful city ('town' would describe its size maybe better), we walked from the train station to the university's main building. It took about 15 mins.
Since I do have thoughts of what I would like to do after high school, but I don't know which of the is the right one or what to choose, I visited a lecture of the Department of English. It seems that learning English on a higher level doesn't really consist of lots of grammar. In fact, they said that they study gramnmar only term. Oh, I almost forgot: on the train we got little booklets about different faculties and their acceptance terms, I found out that I'm accepted to Romanic languages & culture department already because I won the second place on the national Russian competiton. That brightened my day a lot but in a way it made my lazier because now I feel that I don't have to study as much any more because I already have a spot in the university in the field that I would actually like to study.
After that I visited the Biomedicum of the university. It is one of the most modern facilities in Europe to study medicine. We had a lecture from a lecturer and two students. That definitely put some persepectives up and all my chances to study it, depend on Russian! :) If I should win (or be in the top five) of the national Russian competition next year, I'm in.
After the lecture, we went to the MORGUE (the place where they keep dead bodies) and saw a body which was already prepped. The stink was strong but I got use to it in a while. They prep the bodies formaline + sth else, so the smell was chemical not the decomposing of the body.
All in all, my day was a lot of fun. Although me and Katre were supposed to go out clubbing tonight but she turned me down :(  But that's alright, there will be plenty more parties to come. It was a terribly long and I am not used to walking this much in one day but I guess the better my sleep will be. Plus, the weather here is horrible - it's snowy, wet, windy and all the other nasty stuff you can imagine. Even though it's unbearably disgusting to walk around these days, it is only a sign of one thing - spring is coming!

See ya soon!
